TOYOTA ARGENTINA celebrates the production of the unit number 400.000 in the Industrial Plant of Zárate, province of Buenos Aires. The unit 400.000 corresponds to a HILUX Pick up and his destination will be the local market.

Aníbal Borderes, President of TOYOTA ARGENTINA, emphasized: "The production of 400.000 units represents a milestone in the growth of the company in the country and the fulfillment of a new successful stage in the process of production that TOYOTA initiated more than twelve years ago in Argentina”. Also, in the frame of the celebration, Susumu Kanada, the Director Industrial, was grateful for the effort of all the members of the company, and added: "We believe that the commitment of all that we are part of TOYOTA is the strategy that guides us to the success, facing us to look for the improving to keep on offering the best products and excellence services to our clients”.

With an endowment of more than 3.000 employees and a volume of production and investment in permanent growth, TOYOTA ARGENTINA reaffirms his commitment on the local market and posiciona for 4to consecutive year as the self-propelled leader in exports of the country (according to invoicing total), exporting during 2008 more of U$S 1.000 millions (values FOB) of his models Hilux pick up and SW4, what there represents approximately 65 % of his local production. This way, TOYOTA ARGENTINA keeps on contributing with the growth of the national industry, like a mark recognized by the Quality, Reliability and Durability of his products and the culture centred on the continuous progress and the innovation.

The company makes from 1997 the pickup Hilux of the industrial plant of Zárate. During 2005 it presented the new Hilux, the vehicle that revolutionized the segment of pickups of our country; and in the same year it threw the Hilux SW4, the first sports small car (SUV), produced by TOYOTA in the country. Both vehicles turned into leaders in sales in his segments, position that they support up to the date.

To promote the growth of the company in the region, TOYOTA ARGENTINA increased during the last years his production capacity in Zárate's property and extended the manufacture of local car parts. At present, the Industrial Plant of TOYOTA, produces 65.000 annual units and it is employed at two shifts.

On the other hand, TOYOTA faces now the efforts to give major impulse to the educational programs, environment and safety that it carries out both in Zárate's community and to national level.
