The company Chery Automobile, one of the principal ones of China, and the Argentine group Socma (Franco Macri), they presented Chery Tiggo, a SUV (Sports Utilitarian Vehicle) light and of haulage 4×2, that is made in Carrasco, Uruguay.

This vehicle will be commercialized in Argentina in a network of 12 concessionaires (5 in Capital and 7 in the rest of the country) and it expires with the norms of integration Mercosur, which 60 % of regional components demands in 2 years (today it is 40 %), with the bonus of being provided with car parts of almost 50 Argentine companies. The Tiggo is the first car of technology and Chinese mark, product of Chinese investment, which is made out of China. And for 2010, Chery Socma glides to install a plant in Argentina, with an investment of US$ 500 millions and a production of 150.000 units per year.

The world vice-president of Chery, Zhou Bi Ren, pointed out during the throwing of the mark in Argentina, that “South America is a very important market, especially the MERCOSUR” and added that, the capital company hundred per cent Chinese, elected Socma as an associate in this adventure of a plant in this part of the continent “because he is one of the most important groups of the region and has demonstrating glorious precedents in the automotive industry”.

The "Tiger" since the TIGGO is named, it is the first Chery-Socma model in the country. It appears in five different tonalities (blue – black – bordeaux – gray dark gray silver–) and possesses all the characteristics of a SUV (Sports Utilitarian Vehicle):
